The story of Severinas

Sierra de las Mianas - Guatemala

A simple but powerful dream

Severinas is located in the Sierra de las Minas mountain range in eastern Guatemala. This region, once known for its jade and marble, is today recognized as one of the country’s most precious natural treasures. Declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 1990, it shelters over 60% of Guatemala’s remaining cloud forest. Here, more than 885 species find their home, among them the endangered Quetzal, Jaguar, Onza, and Ocelot.

Severinas was founded in 2021 with a simple but powerful dream: to create a farm where people and nature can thrive together. We are the first in the region to consistently work with organic, biodynamic, and regenerative methods. Our aim is to be fully self-sufficient and to grow coffee in harmony with natural cycles, strengthening both the local community and the environment.

People & Nature

At its heart, our work is about people and nature. We are deeply rooted in the local community, guided by connection to the land,
care for one another, and shared responsibility. We are passionate about producing coffee of the highest quality, but just as passionate about creating lasting positive change for the environment and the people around us.

Our farm covers 224 hectares across two neighboring estates, La Montañita and La Guadalupana, located between 1,100 and 1,650 meters above sea level. The dramatic landscapes, mineral-rich soils, and unique microclimates of the Sierra de las Minas provide ideal conditions for cultivating coffee of remarkable complexity and character.

Mayan symbol

The Quetzal is more than Guatemala’s national bird, it is a living symbol of freedom. With its radiant colors and long, flowing tail feathers, it carries stories of the sky and spirit. Our interpretation is inspired by the elegance of ancient Mayan art.
